Decreased hemoglobin levels are shown to lead to not only poorer quality of life, but also to lower survival rates in cancer patients. Today there is evidence that iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia. This paper considers the mechanisms of iron metabolic disturbances, the diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency. It gives the results of many clinical trials comparing the efficacy of different iron preparations.</p>
Представлены результаты многочисленных клинических исследований, сравнивающих эффективность разных препаратов железа.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>cancer</kwd><kwd>anemia</kwd><kwd>iron deficiency</kwd><kwd>erythropoietins</kwd><kwd>ferric carboxymaltose</kwd><kwd>ferritin</kwd><kwd>transferrin</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>рак</kwd><kwd>анемия</kwd><kwd>дефицит железа</kwd><kwd>эритропоэтины</kwd><kwd>карбоксимальтозат железа</kwd><kwd>ферритин</kwd><kwd>трансферрин</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Schrijvers D, De Samblanx H, Roila F.
